Abstract The Delta undulator is a compact adjustable-phase insertion device that provides full light polarization control. Five undulators of this type will be installed in the initial operation phase of Sirius, the new 4th generation synchrotron light source that is being built by the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS). In this work we present the recent advances in the development of Sirius Delta-type undulator, the studies of the effects of this device in the storage ring beam dynamics and assembly and measurements strategies.
