AbstractScientific experiments at large-scale research facilities require flexible and collaborative tools to document, discuss, and track experimental progress. We introduce myLog*, a new logbook solution developed at European XFEL after four years of iterative prototyping and user engagement. Designed to meet the evolving needs of scientists and support teams, myLog offers a user-friendly interface built on a robust architecture. It leverages Zulip** for threaded, real-time communication and uses the facility’s metadata catalogue, myMdC***, to orchestrate and support users adoption of new workflows and enriched interfaces and GUI****. This integration enables seamless connection between discussions, control system events, experiment datasets metadata and data analysis artifacts. myLog emphasizes user-centric organization. Experiment groups can define how information and notifications are structured, while Principal Investigators retain full control over access permissions. Real-time integration with the Control System allows automatic logging of key events, complemented by manual entries when needed. Importantly, myLog respects data governance by enforcing embargo policies, ensuring sensitive information is managed appropriately. By combining communication, metadata, and automation in a single platform, myLog provides a modern, scalable approach to scientific logging and collaboration. We aim to present the solution overview and its integration into the facility infrastructure.
