abstract = {{Binary collisions inside a H⁻ bunch result in H⁻ stripping and subsequent particle loss. This phenomenon, called intra-beam stripping, was observed in LEAR and SNS superconducting linac. We mimic the derivation made for the linac to derive the intra-beam stripping loss rate for an isochronous cyclotron. And then, we apply this theory to the TRIUMF 500 MeV H⁻ cyclotron to estimate the loss.}},
