Abstract After choosing the suitable geometry for accelerating cavity, evaluation of geometrical parameters effects on radio frequency characteristics is essential. In this paper after study of priority of geometrical parameters in optimization of accelerating cells of Side Coupled Linac, according to obtained results, new design of s-band accelerating cavity is suggested. By frequency sensitivity study of new dimensions, we can choose best technique to tune the accelerating cavity during magnetic coupling-hole adjustment.
